Idea Summary
Over the years, Overflow has partnered in a variety of ways – from story strategy and video production to helping the team pivot to a fully virtual event in 2020 and a hybrid event in 2021, we’ve been honored to adapt and utilize various capabilities over the years as their needs have evolved.
Our Work
The virtual program in 2020 included live broadcasts of multiple featured presenters, a live remote keynote by Dr. Oz, and a collection of pre-recorded video content. The project involved strategic story for the overall event and individual story coaching and direction for speakers. The experience design focused on both a physical studio location for the live broadcast, as well as the virtual experience for attendees. Multimedia production included pre-recorded videos, filming and creation of on-demand breakout sessions and compelling motion graphics and video transitions to keep energy high.
We created a custom virtual venue, where the live event was broadcast with interactive chat and polling features. The site included additional resources and an interactive illustrated story map containing breakout sessions and tools for women’s health topics. In 2021, the program pivoted to a virtual and in-person hybrid event, with similar capabilities employed from the previous year.
In 2022, the event was back in-person, hosting nearly 1,000 women from across the Kansas City region. Overflow helped create the overarching event theme, mapping out a strategic story to be told through high-quality, emotive videos from the start of the program to the end. By featuring voices of women in the community who love well, lead bravely and live whole, attendees were able to connect with women who had personal stories to share in a rich, visually beautiful format. The video set was woven into the program, as well as used afterwards to promote the next year’s event on social media. In addition, Overflow provided photography support and photojournalism interviews of women around the community, which were included on screens throughout the event venue and printed inside the program to elevate more voices of women.
