Idea Adoption in Theory
What is idea adoption?
The practice of sharing intentional stories among members of a group over time so that more advantageous ideas are accepted and desired behavior changes follow.
How does it work?
At Overflow, we use strategic story, experience design and creative production to magnify human connection and engage early adopters to spread ideas. Overflow understands the shape of story, the process of behavior change and storytelling across a variety of mediums to get ideas adopted.
Related research-based theories inform the practice of idea adoption including Diffusion of Innovations by Everett M. Rogers (Adoption curve shown below), Organizational Knowledge Creation Theory by Ikujiro Nonaka and discipline of Change Management (OCM).
