We are a company who uses cross-disciplinary approaches to design, produce and distribute multimedia content that gets ideas adopted. Our privately held firm was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Kansas City. From the heartland, we serve clients across the globe including North America, South America, Europe, Australia, Asia and beyond.
Shane specializes in story design. He is an intra-praneur four times over, building four successful companies inside two privately held multinational firms as a former COO at Lockton Companies. Shane’s business background is as diverse as his education, which includes Marketing, Accounting and Sociology. He’s a proud husband, father of two, speaker, artist and author. His latest book, Everyone’s Got One: Opinion, Idea, Story, Reason to Change is a journey through story, shedding light on issues with idea adoption.
Tammy specializes in strategy, marketing, organizational change and corporate learning. Prior to Overflow, she operated her own consulting practice and has twenty years of cross-functional experience as an executive at Hallmark Cards. Tammy is an adjunct professor in Entrepreneurship, a non-profit board member, community volunteer, wife and mother of two. She holds a master’s degree in Education from Kansas University and bachelor’s in Marketing from Truman State University.
Jeff specializes in creative direction and storytelling through various creative methods. He manages teams of cinematographers, photographers, designers, and writers. He began his career in marketing, and then ran his own successful videography company. He is an EMMY award-winning videographer, who has led creative campaigns in digital storytelling and multimedia across the U.S. and abroad.
Michelle specializes in strategic meeting planning, incentive travel and live event design. An industry leader known for operational excellence and client retention, she has led multiple teams to deliver some of the most successful national sales meetings, product launches and incentive travel campaigns across the globe. Prior to joining Overflow, she served as President of a privately held firm that grew to be named to the CMI 25 list of Top Meeting and Incentive Agencies in North America for more than seven consecutive years, among other accolades. Michelle is an active member in the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE), Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and carries the credentials of Certification in Meeting Management (CMM).
Dr. Bill Hendricks
Strategist and Senior Storyteller
Dr. Bill Hendricks
Bill specializes in idea adoption and leads development of workshops for Story Lab. For more than 30 years he has worked to help people and organizations close the gap between strategy and operations. Dr. Hendricks has worked with corporate giants and small startups; founded an international consulting business and managed change in 13 different countries. His bachelors was completed at the University of Northern Iowa, master’s degree at Asbury Theological Seminary and his doctorate from the University of Dubuque focused on personality assessment and conflict management. He lives in Overland Park, Kansas, with his wife, Jacki, son Scott and a house full of dogs.
Erica understands all sides of production, with a multi-disciplinary background. She has a degree in public relations, held a previous career in copywriting, and is a talented photographer and video editor who ran her own company for 10 years prior to Overflow. She is an expert in story structure and multimedia story production.
Director of Accounts and Operations
Ashley partners with clients to drive strategic change through adoption and facilitates workshops for Story Lab. More than 20 years’ experience has offered Ashley the opportunity to work in a variety of industries, in the U. S. and abroad, for the Fortune 500, nonprofit and fast-growing tech company. Prior to Overflow she operated her own consulting practice, drove strategy execution for the software division of Lexmark, and managed cross-functional strategic initiatives with Accenture. Ashley is a mentor with UMKC's Regnier Institute for Entrepreneurship and a non-profit board member. She holds an MBA from the University of Kansas and a bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication from Washington & Lee University.
Ryan is a talented filmmaker and motion graphics artist. He produces multimedia content with an eye for detail and a vast knowledge of all things technical. Ryan thrives on developing new skills to create richer stories, and loves combining the creative process of filming with the finesse of editing a final product.
Social Media Strategist
Christina is well-versed in social media management and strategy across a vast number of industries including health and wellness, beauty, skincare, business and career services, luxury goods, healthcare, non-profits, and the performing arts. Christina loves to help people learn the ins and outs of social media and brings an invaluable skill set and extra flair to the table, having spent 10+ years as a professional opera singer.
Kelly is a talented artist who facilitates workshops for Story Lab and believes that seeing the artistic process reflected through the artist's hand is what makes artwork compelling. She is passionate about the art process and believes it's a vehicle for all types of discovery. Kelly is an abstract artist and currently teaches at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from Kansas State University.
Paul uses his talents as a digital artist to produce an endless array of hand drawn imagery. He leverages his experience as a painter to unite modern methods of digital illustration with today’s graphic recording techniques, producing Overflow’s emblematic storyboards. By reaching into a wide breadth of mediums, Paul creates original and compelling visuals for every story.
Hector is an experienced designer and illustrator whose varied background enables him to address problem solving from different points of view. His experience as a designer of museums and exhibits, as well as retail environments allows him to turn simple spaces into immersive experiences. With his ability to listen and quickly sketch and draw, he creates visual content that helps our clients and partners visualize concepts. He uses this skill in graphic recording, capturing ideas and concepts in front of a live audience and creating compelling storyboards.
Naomi applies her extensive background in program coordination and degrees in art and design to meeting and event coordination. She is passionate about creating seamless and memorable experiences for meetings, incentive travel, and events. Naomi’s years of experience in administration and communications allows her to support attendees from first contact to final follow-up.
Ashley serves as an Experience Manager with Overflow Meetings & Incentives. She is a seasoned strategic operations and event producer accomplished in leading through transition, re-engineering operational processes, and managing event growth. Ashley previously served in senior leadership at Kansas City-based Women Leaders in College Sports. She began her career at The Kansas City Sports Commission & Foundation and WIN for KC, where she now serves on the board. Ashley received her undergraduate degree in accounting and sports management from The University of Kansas where she was a four-year member of the women’s rowing team.
Jim is a dedicated meeting planner with more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit and corporate meeting planning. He is an organized and enthusiastic professional who enjoys helping companies execute exciting, memorable and successful meetings and events. Prior to joining Overflow, Jim worked with financial and insurance companies in Chicago and Kansas City.
Caren specializes in strategic meeting planning, incentive travel and operational excellence. She has more than 25 years’ experience in management and operations in the travel industry, both on the air and land side of the business. Her previous positions with other companies required her to be responsible in the development and management of meeting and incentive programs for Fortune 500 clients. Caren’s experience included working on every aspect of event program from site search and negotiating contracts to program design and logistics as well as corporate and convention air contracts for a large incentive house. Caren is an active member of Society of Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) and carries the credentials of Certified Recognition Professional (CRP)
Campaign Field Reporter
Cindy is a multimedia creative who specializes in campaign communications at Overflow, telling thematic stories with depth and breadth to elevate the narrative around a specific topic and increase awareness. She is passionate about using her talents to connect with people and bring their stories to life. She is skilled in a variety of multimedia tools, including videography, photography, motion graphics and animation.
Sami believes in creating positive, productive experiences for clients and guests. As an Experience Coordinator, she aims to deliver clear concepts and communications from start to finish. Sami’s broad experience in customer-facing hospitality, outreach, registration systems and customer relationship management offer a comprehensive understanding of the needs of both event organizers and attendees.
Director of Public Affairs
Steff is an entrepreneurial communications and public affairs professional. She brings 20 years of experience in communications strategy, messaging, community engagement and stakeholder involvement efforts. Steff specializes in special-project and inflection-point initiatives to guide clients to implement actionable approaches to reach target audiences. She clearly communicates complex ideas, crafting the “words and design” of creative and effective public affairs tools. She works collaboratively to increase awareness, extend and enhance internal and external dialogue, and foster consensus and results. She serves to advance communications efforts and strengthen overall organizational mission, objectives and brand reputation.
